The Original Feather Bracelets

The 2 bracelets above are the original ones we did. The gold one is the first with straight veins, the silver one is the first with curved veins.

I challenge anyone to show me proof of one done before 1991 when we first did the silver one and 1998 for the gold version. As far as I know the Chinese knock-offs and the one’s on Robson St in Vancouver and from other West Coast artists are variations of our original designs.

Fire and Ice , a company in the Eastern US, also sells a knock-off of our design they acquired as ‘ A Navajo design ‘ from  A ‘Navajo  artist’. They refuse to give me the name. …      …( even had a carver at a show, look at my design on Friday,  then came on Saturday with an exact replication and was selling Raffle tickets for it In Front Of Our Tent !!!! The pain was that he was a ‘friend’ a fellow Carver with his own great designs and ideas …but Karma got him.  ) … and I get accused of Cultural Appropriation , ( mostly by poor morons ) , if I do a Friends design that is for them for their personal use…. or if I manifest Marlene’s designs. Question still remains… ‘ Name one item Bill Read produced that hasn’t been touched by a Non-Native during it’s production. They can help him but I can’t help my Wife with her designs ?
